Cellular and Molecular Biology Research Center

The cellular and molecular biology research center has been set up to support the research faculty members of Babol University of Medical Sciences and other researchers in the field of cellular and molecular sciences on September 10, 2008. Investigating the molecular mechanism involved in the pathogenesis of non-infectious diseases (with an emphasis on common diseases in the region) including cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, ... is only part of the strategic goals of the center. This center succeeded in reaching the definitive approval on April 13, 2014. Active research teams in collaboration with clinical departments examine new drugs and identify biological markers in various diseases as well as their cellular and molecular mechanisms, and the results are published in various scientific journals or recorded as patent. It should be noted that the center has so far had had 6 PhD by research students.

Regenerative medicine is one of the major areas of activity in the center and based on a decade of laboratory research, with the completion of a clean room at Ayatollah Rouhani Hospital of Babol in 2016, a new phase of research has been started. The center sincerely welcomes researchers and scientists from research projects and announces its readiness for scientific collaboration at various levels.

  1. Cell Therapy Unit

Cell therapy unit of cellular and molecular biology research center with an area of over 100 square meters is located on the ground floor of the Ayatollah Rouhani Hospital and is ready for exploitation. This unit requires full hygienic conditions in accordance with international standards to conduct a clinical research using human mesenchymal cells or tissue engineering. The clean room of this unit will conform to the standards of ISO and Ministry of Health and Medical Education. Knowledge-based companies that are active in the field of cell therapy or the production of sterile products to use in the patient's body are collaborating with this unit.

The equipment and devices of this unit are as follows:

- Clean room 2 × 4 square meters

- Air conditioner

- Laminar hood class 2

- CO2 incubator

- Incubator 37 ° C

- Refrigerator

- Autoclave
